Here are 3 Ways to Give Your NYE Party Some Extra Flair [LIST]

2018 is almost upon us here at 600 Global (Phoenix, AZ) and we are extremely excited for the upcoming new year! The new year means new goals, new challenges, new friends and new experiences. But before you can do any of that, it is tradition to celebrate all of your accomplishments from 2017 and leave all of the negative aspects in the past. What better way to do that than to throw an epic bash!? Here are 3 ways to give your New Years Eve party an extra kick this year!

1. Noise-makers

Noisemakers are a New Years Eve tradition. Once the ball drops and the new year passes over, everybody blasts a noise-maker and celebrates!

This year, challenge all of your guests to bring their most peculiar noise-making device to simultaneously crank off with the rest of the party at midnight! This will be an awesome way to get everybody involved while creating an original and fun experience for all of the partygoers!

2. Photos

Everybody has a friend with a nice, high-quality camera. Assuming that they are already invited, ask them to bring the camera and you can volunteer to take pictures of everybody! Be sure to snap a photo every time a guest arrives, creating a candid moment of their entrance.

It is a wonderful way to make memories and remind people of how fun your party was when they look back on them! Just don’t forget to take plenty of pictures when everybody is jumping around and celebrating – those are the best ones!

3. Potluck

Feeding dozens of adults can be expensive and you might not be able to get the menu right depending on preferences, allergies, or diets! Advertise the party as a potluck and encourage each guest to bring an appetizer or meal of their own to share with the group! You can ensure that everybody will be well-fed and full by 12 o’clock, while also satisfying your guests’ food-related needs.

With the abundance of snacks and apps, you will also have some delicious leftovers to bring into the new year – and hey, we love yummy leftovers at 600 Global – sharing is caring!

3 Ways to Get into the Holiday Spirit if You Live in a Warm Climate [LIST]

We’re experts at the “hot Christmas” game here at 600 Global (Phoenix, AZ)! Weather in the 50 and 60s won’t dampen our holiday spirits!

All of the Christmas movies depict families decked out in sweaters and mittens while the windows are fogged with condensation and flurry snowfall in the background. We refuse to miss out on the fun – so here are 3 ways that you can get into the holiday spirit if you live in a warm climate like we do!

1. Build a Sand Man!

Psh, snow!? You don’t need that to construct your big, lofty, round buddy! Head on down to the nearest beach, or literally anywhere with sand, and build it up! Take an awesome picture and send it to friends and relatives up north – and do it without numb, frozen fingers. Remind them that the holidays aren’t so bad in the sunshine, which brings us to our next point.

2. Remember That You’re Lucky!

It gets really cold up in the northern states around this time of year. You have no idea what they would give to be able to be in your shoes! Shoveling wet, heavy snow, dealing with a near-Antarctic car in the morning, being blasted by frozen winds at every angle. Those are not enjoyable and 600 Global is incredibly lucky to do business in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. So hey, let’s enjoy our shorts and t-shirts because it is a lot better than painful, icy wind in your face!

3. Go All Out!

Just because there’s no snow outside doesn’t mean we shouldn’t go all out! Make some delicious eggnog, bake dozens of holiday cookies, glaze a Christmas ham, deck the halls, buy pine-scented candles. There is no excuse for not taking part in the holiday cheer!

There are also plenty of neighborhoods to go drive around and enjoy. Yes, northerners, we still put up awesome lights for everyone to enjoy. Oh, and of course – Christmas movies! All of the countless classics that you can only watch one-time per year are just as wonderful in warm weather.

2 Bad Habits You Need to Drop to Be Successful in Your Career

600 Global has had its fair share of success over the last 18+ years — and it’s truly a testament to the positive work habits we practice every day.

Part of developing great habits means dropping all of the bad habits that are weighing you down. Even the most productive and success-minded individuals struggle with doing so — so if you’re in this boat, you’re not alone! The key is to identify the habits that you need to break, and then to change your behaviors — stat!

Here are 2 bad habits to drop today…

Being disorganized can apply to everything from time management to a messy file cabinet. It’s easy to just put things off to the side and forget about them, but eventually they add up. Take control of your life and try to organize it accordingly. You’ll find you’re able to operate with a lot less ambiguity and stress when you always know where things are and have a schedule of your agenda.

Poor planning is at the root of 99% of your stress — we guarantee it! If you go into each week just flying by the seat of your pants, you are missing out on the benefits of being a productive machine! As the saying goes — “Fail to plan, plan to fail.” If you’re looking at a giant to-do list with no idea what to tackle next (or worse, you haven’t even made a to-do list!), it means that you are disorganized. If your car is filthy, your room is a mess, and you don’t know what you’re having for lunch, it might mean that you are disorganized.

Thankfully, this is an easy one to fix. We recommend dedicating a minimum of 30 minutes each week to blocking out time on your calendar for each important meeting and task. Anyone who wants to be successful needs an organized plan.

Procrastination is often a symptom of poor planning and disorganization. Some people claim they thrive under pressure but flirting with deadlines can be a dangerous game. There are ways to motivate yourself to get things done by a certain time without waiting until the last possible minute. You don’t necessarily have to work ahead but at least try to get started on things when you receive them rather than putting the entire thing off to the last minute. It’s easier said than done but it’s worth it.

600 Global knows how difficult it can be to break these habits, but we also know the rewards you will reap if you are able to overcome them. If you can avoid or break these habits, you’re well on your way to being successful.

3 Reasons Why Corporate Social Responsibility Rocks [LIST]

Philanthropy is something we truly believe in here at 600 Global (Phoenix, AZ). Our CEO, Michael, is involved in a number of charities and naturally, so is our company.

The holiday season is upon us and it is important to remember that it is about giving! Giving is necessary in a world filled with so many people in need.

Corporate social responsibility is something that makes the world a better place and naturally makes for better business! The number one argument for corporate social responsibility should be obvious: it’s the right thing to do! At 600 Global we adamantly believe in the importance of helping those who are less fortunate.

But, if that’s not enough to convince you why your company should give back, here are 3 more reasons…

1. Employee Engagement

Employees love to work for a company that helps others. It becomes a team effort to improve the community and brings everybody in on the cause! When 600 Global took part in the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament Benefitting Operation Smile, employees were excited to take part in such an awesome event with their coworkers. Our team is proud of the work that we do and the charitable events that we take part in, which keeps everybody engaged and excited to be part a company that cares about the community!

2.  Public Image

Giving back to the community is beneficial to everybody. People in need receive better care and attention and it helps society in looking after one another. Companies that take part in these charitable activities are more favorable to consumers than those who do not. Customers feel better about giving their business to a company that actually demonstrates a dedication to philanthropic ideas because they trust and believe in that company’s image.

3. Better Applicants

The benefits of corporate social responsibility do not only resonate with consumers and existing employees, but job-hunters take notice as well. Companies that have a positive public image and perform philanthropic actions also attract likeminded, hardworking, engaged, and valuable applicants. This is because the company is seen as a business that takes care of everybody – the planet, the customers, and the employees.

We have the best employees on earth and that is because, when applying and interviewing, they truly wanted to work here because of our culture. Applicants with a desire to work hard and become part of a team that cares are more enticed to work for a company that matches their ambitions.

We sincerely hope that you’ll join 600 Global in giving back during this holiday season. Share with us in the comments some of the ways that you support your own community!

Fun Facts for Thanksgiving [And Happy Thanksgiving!]

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching! All of us at 600 Global appreciate the joy that comes with gathering around a table with good food and loved ones to reflect on the things we are grateful for. It is also a time to reflect upon where we have come from and where we are going.

Since Thanksgiving is a rather old tradition, we thought we’d focus on where we came from and find a few little-known facts about Thanksgiving for your reading pleasure.

  1. The very first Thanksgiving lasted 3 WHOLE days! Can you imagine eating food straight for three days? Ok, so they didn’t eat food all day every day, but if our modern Thanksgiving was three days long you’d need to have a very, very stretchy waistband, that’s for sure.

  2. President Lincoln was the first president to actually sign Thanksgiving into becoming a national holiday. How’s that for Old Abe’s legacy?

  3. Turkey was definitely not served at the first Thanksgiving. Between the pilgrims and the Native Americans, the meal likely consisted of deer, corn, and fish.

  4. During the Great Depression, President Roosevelt tried to move the date of Thanksgiving to a week earlier, in the hopes that it would help the shopping season. It didn’t have much of an effect and so it was moved back to its original date.

  5. Wild, undomesticated Turkeys can run up to 25 miles per hour!!

  6. A common myth is that Benjamin Franklin originally wanted the American bird to be a Turkey, not an Eagle! We don’t know if Turkey rings out Freedom quite the same way that a Bald-Eagle does. However it turns out, President Franklin merely believed that the original seal of an Eagle resembled a Turkey more than an Eagle.

  7. The first meal eaten on the moon, by astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, consisted of roasted turkey.

From all of us at 600 Global, we truly hope this Thanksgiving season is full of celebrations with family and friends as you gather to reflect on how lucky you are. Follow 600 Global on Instagram to see what we’re up to this Thanksgiving Season.
